Over our parents and peers, celebrities have become a rogue influence in shaping our daily lives.  So although this may be lost on some of us, I believe we’ve begun to take for granted how truly amazing our pop culture has become.  Somewhere along the increased exercise of our freedom of speech, developed the bold and unapologetic statements of truth.  The wittier ones inject humor with such precision that these statements call for appreciation from both believers and non-believers without anyone taking themselves too seriously. 

Though satires are nothing new, it has definitely grown in its popularity.  A huge sub-culture of cynics acting seemingly compassionate about the world voice their opinions daily.  Banksy, an elusive graffiti artists (or vandalist, according to some), recently made the news for the discovery of his identity.  Although he has neither confirmed nor denied these allegations, the debate continues over whether his messages benefit[ed] from the mystery surrounding his now celebrity identity.  His political paintings -or at least those not destroyed by the graffiti clean-up crew- poking fun at mass culture have fetched millions from celebrity fans such as Brangelina.  It’s ironic, really.  But with the right dose of humor, those you intend to villianize can also be your biggest fans.  And with that, ”deviant opinion” has earned its coveted position in the world today. 
… whether this relaxed attitude excuses anyone from being held accountable for change however, is altogether a different debate. 

For now, all I can say is, no worries World -whether or not we’re coming to the rescue- it’s all outta love baby, but it’s tough love.
